Tate has been talking so much lately. He repeats everything you say, which can get a little freaky when you realize what comes out of your mouth, because your baby is repeating it! I love his little voice. We taught him his last name this week...and he thinks his name is "Tate Spiff" :)

July..in Retrospect
Trip one: Round Valley
We started the month by going to Round Valley for the 4th of July. Chris' parents go every year, and we have been once or twice, but not since Tate was born. I love the celebration. The weather is so beautiful, too. Chris was actually born there and lived there until he was 6 or 7, so when we go we stay with some family friends. Both my boys love horses. I love the picture of Tanner. (Both of them, actually.) These first two pictures were at the parade. (Tate's first, I think.)

The next thing I did is I went to "Wicked" at Gammage. It was fabulous. I went with my mom and sisters on my sister's "golden birthday" on the 17th. I stole these pictures off my sister's facebook, so I think that's why they are a little small. Here we are making our "wicked" faces.

Chris' mom had a "mqeen" cake made for Tate. He loved it. Mater and McQueen are his favorites. He has never been into stuff like that until about a month ago. The butter cream icing was heavenly.

The next day (18th) my little Tatey turned 2! It was such a fun day. We decided to just do things that he would like all day. We started the day by going to the pool. After that we found a babysitter and left Tanner and took Tate to his first movie. We went to the dollar theatre and saw "Earth" Tate actually did pretty well. The movie had animals and fish and stuff, so that helped hold his attention. The popcorn and soda probably didn't hurt, either. That evening we went to my parents house and had carne asada burritos and tacos for dinner, (chris' choice) and then home made ice cream (my choice) and cupcakes. We ended the evening with a little dance party. Tate is starting to talk so well. He calls candles "happy birthday to yous"
He didn't want to leave the theatre and was a little grumpy about it.
Trip two: Pima
We went to Pima for their 24th of July Pioneer day celebration. We also celebrated Tate's birthday with the family while we were there. Chris and his Dad won blue ribbons at the pioneer day family rodeo for team roping. Chris and I, and then Chris and his dad did an event where they rope the horse and then I run and grab this ribbon that is tied to the horses' tail and take it back to the announcers stand. We didn't win, though. :( It was quite an adventure, nevertheless.

"She's a super freak, super freak!"
She's a super freak, super freak
She's super-freaky, yow
Super freak, super freak
Super freak, super freak.
She's super-freaky, yow
Super freak, super freak
You know this song? It's me. (Not the rest of the song, just this part!) I am a super freak. So yesterday I was at Costco doing some shopping for Tate's bday (today!) I am loading the boys into the car and it is so disgustingly hot that I start the car before I get them in so that the AC can cool it a little bit. I shut the door, walk around to get in, and the door is locked. Both doors are locked and the boys are inside. It is 1 in the afternoon and 110 degrees outside. The car is on, and the AC is on, but my AC sucks until you have been driving like 10 minutes and then it feels like it is working. So I stop this lady walking by and ask her to stand by my car while I go and find someone in Costco that can maybe help. A manager comes out to the car with me and he calls the fire department. Meanwhile, Tate is totally oblivious to everything, and thinks that since he is alone in the car that this is the perfect opportunity to try and open all the food. Tanner is crying, and his cheeks are getting all red like he is hot. Periodically Tate will reach over and try and put Tanner's binky in his mouth like a dutiful brother. This goes on for what feels like FOREVER, and then two police cars and a fire engine come barreling down the way with their lights on. I see the police car and I get a little worried because I don't have Tate's car seat with me, it's in Chris' car. So Tate was just strapped into the seat belt. I'm thinking, "Great, I am going to get a ticket too." Two minutes later the door is open and it is actually cooler in there than I thought. So I take the boys out and kiss them all over their sweet red cheeks, and feel like a complete jerk. Looking back, I actually remember hitting the lock button when I was getting Tanner in the car. And no, I didn't get a ticket.
I told you. She's a super freak, super freak
She's super-freaky, yowSuper freak, super freak.

July 10th: National Cow Appreciation Day
In honor of National Cow Appreciation Day (brought to you by Chick-fil-a) there was this fantastic opportunity to get free food. All you had to do was dress like a cow. Here's my little cow Tate:
I talked some of my family into going with me for lunch. What a lovely herd, eh?
There is an awesome pool near our house that does a free swim every Friday night from 6-8, so for date night we went with some friends to the free swim, and then came over to our house and got ready to go to Chick-fil-a for dinner. Note the udder on Mike (in the middle) haha.
I loved it. And then I went to 7-11 the next morning and got a free slurpee. (They give away free ones on 7.11) Last weekend kind of reminded me of when I was at EA and my room mates and I would basically go anywhere or do anything for a free meal. We would have been all over this Cow appreciation day! I hate to admit it, but it was a little fun being back in that groove.
Do you love Chick-fil-a?(See my poll) They always seem to have some pretty fun stuff. Chris went yesterday and said that this week is customer appreciation week, and when you dine in they actually seat you at a table, (complete with tablecloth) take your order, etc. Clever. Delicious.
